Keokuk County Fair's Queen Cake Contest results

Seven cakes were entered in the Keokuk County Fair's Queen Cake Contest. Cakes entered were: Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake, Juanita Roland; Funfetti Cake, Aubrey Zittergruen; Better Than Anything Cake, Amelia Phillips; Twinkie Cake, Chloe Zittergruen; Strawberry Cake, Norma Alpers; Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake, Susan Koehn, & Tres Leches Cake, Hope Kirby.

Queen Natalie Smith & 2023 Queen Chloe Zittergruen selected Aubrey Zittergruen's cake as the winner. Second place went to Chloe Zittergruen & third place went to Amelia Phillips.

 

Results from the Keokuk County Fair What Cheer Cornhole Tournament

The Keokuk County Fair in What Cheer held their 2nd Cornhole Tournament on July 12th.
Winners were : 1st - Jesse and Kendall, 2nd - Kaden Ludwig and Ethan Kirby, 3rd - Jacoby Williams and Warren Williams, 4th - Neal Sellers and Cully Spears

 

Cookie Stack results from the Keokuk County Fair What Cheer

20 cookie stackers participated in the Keokuk County Fair's Free Family Fun Days' Cookie Stack Contest.

In the youngest group, Kalon Kudart was the winning stacker & Ruby Phillips was runner up. Terrance stacked 16 cookies to win the 7 to 10 year old group. Others were: Nash Phillips 13, Martin Burtlow Jr. 12, Jersey Lindner 11, Oaklynn Van Patten 11, Otley Van Patten 10, & Brooklyn Lindner 8. The winner of the 11 to 15 year olds was London Lindner 17. Other stackers were: Isaac Dehne 9, Amelia Phillips 7, Ashia Maxwell 7, Zoey Dehne 4, Raylynn Brackelsberg 3, & Elijah Eastman. Joe Lindner was the adult group winner followed by Kaylee Hol & Fair Queen Natalie Smith.

 

Results of the Keokuk County Fair's Checker Tournament

As part of Free Family Fun Day at the Keokuk County Fair in What Cheer, the results of the Checkers Tournament were: 10 & under age group 1st Brooklyn Lindner, 2nd Kalen Kudart, 3rd Jersey Lindner, & 4th Nash Phillips. In the 11 to 16 age group, London Lindner was the winner. 2nd Ashia Maxwell, 3rd Zoey Dehne, & 4th Raylynn Brackelsberg.

 

Results of the FFA Vo Ag Show at the Keokuk County Fair in What Cheer

Members of the Tri-County FFA participated in the Keokuk County Fair in What Cheer by having a Spin Art booth & entering some of their projects.

Jaydon Smith received blue ribbons on his medium & large entries. Levi Molyneux received a blue ribbon on small entry. Cole Hughes received a blue ribbon on his metal entry.

 

Results of the Keokuk County Fair Scavenger Hunt

Patty Herr, Scavenger Hunt Coordinator, prepared a challenging 28 questions for the 2024 Keokuk County Fair's Scavenger Hunt. Winning the top prize with 20 correct answers was Tonja Roland-Ludwig. Answering 18 questions for second place was Brandon Follman. Tying with 16 correct answers were two teams: Faith Roland & Evan Jones & Hope & Ethan Kirby.

 

Baby Pageant Keokuk County Fair What Cheer

The annual Keokuk County Fair Baby Pageant was held in Heritage Hall Friday evening, July 12 as part of Free Family Fun Day at the Fair.
The babies were grouped in 3 age groups with one girl & one boy selected to compete for the Little Miss & Little Mr. Keokuk County Fair from each age group.
In the age group born between January 1, 2024 & the Fair, the babies entered were: Rebel Rivet daughter of Christopher & Abby Rivet of What Cheer (most hair), Amelia Barker daughter of Brad & Jennifer Barker of Marengo (sleepiest), Scarlett Spencer daughter of Kayla Jones & Tyler Spencer of Sigourney (smallest), Araya Orndorff daughter of Kearsten Schmidt & Tyler Orndorff of Oskaloosa (most energetic), Henry Broerman son of Salina & Trint Broerman of What Cheer (mellowest), Rowan Bolkema son of Erin & Ryan Bolkema of Oskaloosa (rosiest cheeks), Virgil Roland son of Will & Gretchen Roland of Floris (happiest), & Enzo Chhouy son of Hailey & Robert Chhouy of Montezuma (most energetic).
Entering in the July 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023 age group were: Cove Lundy daughter of Rylie & Tanner Lundy of What Cheer (darkest eyes), Svea Fogle daughter of Nicole & Tegan Fogle of Delta (most curious), Maverick Best son of Meaghan & Roy Best of Rose Hill (happiest), Stetson Hartwig son of Jordan Hartwig & Kendall Briney of Delta (most energetic), Riott Martin son of Jessica Clubb & Ryan Martin of Delta (friendliest), & Ryle Ryan son of Sabrina & Brandon Ryan of What Cheer (darkest eyes).
In the oldest group born between January 1, 2023 & June 30, 2023 were: Tatum Foster daughter of Kristen & Cody Foster of What Cheer (most fidgety) & Benson Little son of Carrie Stout & Brady Little of Sigourney (chubbiest cheeks).
Second Runner Up for Little Miss Keokuk County Fair was Tatum Foster, First Runner up was Araya Orndorff & Little Miss Keokuk County Fair 2024 is Cove Lundy. Second Runner up for Little Mr. Keokuk County Fair was Benson Little, First Runner Up was Enzo Chhouy & Riott Martin was named Little Mr. Keokuk County Fair 2024.

There were 96 entries in the Keokuk County Fair's Arts & Crafts Department.

Bingo winners at the Keokuk County Fair What Cheer

There were 2 nights of Bingo played at the Keokuk County Fair in What Cheer.
Friday night's $100 Blackout winner was Graci Coble. Other winners were: Nicki Thomas (4), Bev Kinkade(2), Lindsey Streigel, Earl McKay, Joe Foster, & John Fowler.
Saturday night's $100 Blackout was split between Mitch Christner, Amelia Storm, Brad Storm, Nathan Phillips & Hope Kirby. Other winners were: Brenda Shappell(2), Natalie Burkenitz, Marty Christner, Earl McKay, Jack Shorteriz, Kim Strong, Maci Corley, Mitch Christner, Melinda Kinkade, & Connie Bece.

 

Culinary results - Keokuk County Fair What Cheer

Superintendent of the Culinary Department, Janis Collins, reported 159 entries.
Winning Best of Show was Carolyn Danner. Best of Division winners were Andrea Coble, Carolyn Danner, Carol Horras, Ann Wadsworth, & Susan Hiner.

The Floral department of the Keokuk County Fair in What Cheer had divisions for specimens, potted plants, table settings, artistic arrangements & herbs.
Receiving the Best Show Purple Rosette Ribbon was Patty Herr for an arrangement. Best of Division Green Rosettes went to Carol Horras, Patty Herr, Kim Strong. & Mike Streigel.
