2025 Fair Results



 

Keokuk County Fair's Friend of the Fair Award

Each year the Keokuk County Fair Board presents the "Friend of the Fair" award to someone who has contributed to the success of the fair.

This year's honoree was Jackie Culp.

Jackie has been a member to the Fair Board since 2018.  In that time, she has volunteered at the Flea Market, helped with Bingo, working in the Figure 8 Concession stand, take admission at the horse races, assigned exhibitor numbers & distributed entry tags during the fair for the Floral Hall, as well as handling the rental of the buildings on the Fairgrounds throughout the year.

 

2025 Baby Pageant Results

Babies were awarded a ribbon and stuffed animal.

JANUARY 1, 2025 - Fair (0 - 6 months age group)

Girls:
Sleepiest - Wrenlee Cloyd, daughter of Ryan and Tarrin Cloyd of Rose Hill;
Most Curious - Paisley Scholtus, daughter of Grayce Williams and Cody Scholtus of What Cheer;
Biggest Smile - Baylor Bair, daughter of Ethan and Abby Bair of Keswick;
Darkest Eyes - Roxanne Votrubek, daughter of Wade and Jessie Votrubek of What Cheer.

Boys:
Happiest - Remington Martin, son of Cassie and Adam Martin of What Cheer.

Born between July 1 and December 31, 2024

Girls:
Mellowest - Kaycee Latcham, daughter of Sierra and Chad Latcham of Montezuma;
Most Curious - Lottie Jo Tullis, daughter of Brilyn Butler and Zach Tullis of Delta;
Friendliest - Charlotte White, daughter of Sydney Schultz and Charlie White of South English;
Darkest Hair - Rhea Price, daughter of Hanna Accord and Brandon Price of What Cheer.

Boys:
Biggest Smile - Huxlee Foubert, son of Maci and Kadon Foubert of North English;
Most Curious - Wesley Jindirch, son of Joe and Christian Jindrich of North English.

There were no girls in the oldest age group - January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024.

Boys:
Most Energetic - Virgil Roland, son of Gretchen and Will Roland of Floris;
Friendliest - Waylon Winkelman, son of Logan and Jennifer Winkelman of What Cheer.

2025 Miss Keokuk County Fair Queen Hailey Brackelsberg crowned:
Rhea Price, Little Miss Keokuk County Fair.
Huxlee Foubert, Little Mr. Keokuk County Fair.
Each received a trophy, a crown, and a $25 Wal-Mart gift certificate courtesy of the Keokuk County Fair and Delta Grocery.

 

Scavenger Hunt Results

There was a tie for finding the most correct answers in the Keokuk County Fair's annual Scavenger Hunt.
Hope Kirby and Faith Roland each answered 18 of the 22 questions correctly and split 1st and 2nd place money.
Tonja Ludwig and Gene Roland answered 15 questions correctly for 3rd place.

 

Checker Results

A checkers tournament was held during the Free Family Fun Day at the Keokuk County Fair in What Cheer.
Winning 1st place in the youngest age group was Kalen Kudart and 2nd place went to Jersey Linder.
Winning 1st in the middle age group was Braxton Krumm and 2nd place went to Brooklyn Linder.
2025 Keokuk County Fair Queen Hailey Brackelsberg won 1st place in the oldest age group with Ava Brackelsberg winning 2nd.

 

Photography Results

Patty Herr won the Best of Show in the Photography Department.

Receiving Best of Division was: Tonja Ludwig, Susan Koehn, Kathy Fisch (2) and Patty Herr.

In the Interpretive Section - Juanita Roland - 1 blue; Susan Koehn - 1 blue, 2 red and 2 white; Hope Kirby - 1 red and 1 white; Tonja Ludwig - 1 blue; Gene Roland - 1 red; and Karla Lee - 1 blue.

In the Harness Horse Division, Patty Herr was awarded the Grand Prize. She also had 3 blue. Tonja Ludwig had 2 red and 1 white. Susan Koehn had 1 red and 1 white.

Ohana Tractor Pull Results

The tractor pull was rescheduled due to rain.

11 yr. age group: 1st went to Braxton Krumm of Keswick.

10 yr. age group: 1st – Preston Krumm of Keswick; 2nd – Justin Olson of What Cheer; 3rd – Molly Schultz of Des Moines.

9 yr. age group: 1st – Quintyn Rozendahl of Lynnville; 2nd – Raelyn Harris of Thornburg.

8 yr. age group: 1st – Evie Buehneman of Delta; 2nd – Ellenor Winkleman of What Cheer; 3rd – Emma Rempp of Montezuma. Brinley Stephenson of Montezuma also pulled.

7 yr. age group: 1st – Denver Bermudes of What Cheer; 2nd – Calin Gruhr of Grinnell; 3rd – Brantley Foubert of North English.

6 yr. age group: 1st – Emilia Winkleman of What Cheer; 2nd – Madi Buehneman of Delta; 3rd – Aurora Knipfer of Thornburg.

5 yr. age group: 1st – Drake Wuebuier of Lovilla; 2nd – Jarrett Smalley of Sully; 3rd – Tinley Thomas of What Cheer. Megan Hol of Oskaloosa and Wesley Gruhn of Grimes also pulled.

4 yr. age group: Aryanna Spurlock of Hedrick was the only puller.

3 yr. age group: 1st – Kennson Collins of Deep River; 2nd – Wyatt Brubaker of Sigourney; 3rd – Maggie Wuebler of Lovilla. Tyler Winkleman of What Cheer also pulled.

 

Cornhole Results

The Cornhole Contest was held in the Heritage Hall in spite of the rain.

Winning the $250 1st prize was Kendall Montgomery and Jesse Montgomery. The $125 2nd place prize went to Kaden Ludwig and Ethan Kirby. Placing 3rd and winning $75 was Clay Morse and Clayton Visser. Logan Winkleman and Ryan Anderson won $50 for 4th place.

Also competing were teams of Daniel Collin and Alyssa Streigel, Maci Foubert and Jenna Accord, and Kadon Foubert and Tyler Shuttleworth.

 

Cookie Stack Results

The Cookie Stack Contest was divided into 4 age groups.

3 – 6 year olds: Kaid Kudart won.

7 – 10 year olds: Oaklynn Van Patten won; Kalen Kudart was 2nd; Denver Bermudes was 3rd.

11 – 17 year olds: London Linder won; Lily McDonald was 2nd; Hailey Brackelsberg was 3rd.

18 and over: Joe Linder won; Amanda Linder and Christina Twewilliger tied for 2nd; Paige Bermudes and Leah Van Patten tied for 3rd.

 

Puzzle Results

The puzzle contest was a new addition to the Free Family Fun Day at the Keokuk County Fair.

3 – 6 age group: Kaid Kudart completed the puzzle in 34 minutes.

7 and up age group: Denver and Paige Bermudes won in 34 minutes; 2nd – Kalen Kudart in 37 minutes; 3rd – Oaklynn and Leah Van Patten; 4th – Otley and Cody Van Patten.

11 and up age group: Brooklyn and Joe Linder completed the puzzle in 16½ minutes for 1st place; 2nd – Lily and Kaden McDonald; followed by Amy and Christina Twewilliger, London and Amanda Linder, and Hailey and Ava Brackelsberg.

17 and older age group: 1st – Kaden Ludwig and Hope Kirby; 2nd – Tonja Ludwig and Gene Roland.


Arts and Crafts Results

There were 78 entries in the Arts and Crafts Department.

London Lindner and Patty Herr received Best of Division and Matt Tomas received Best of Show.

Queen's Cake Results

Queen Hailey Brackelsberg selected the Brownie Refrigerator Cake of Juanita Roland as the winner.

Susan Koehn's white cake with strawberry frosting was awarded 2nd place.

 

Grain, Vegetable and Fruit Results

Sixteen gardeners entered items in the Grain, Vegetable and Fruit Department.

Best of Show went to Susan Koehn, while Best of Division went to Susan Koehn, Carolyn Danner, Patty Herr and Leah Van Patten.

Floral Results

The Best of Show went to Susan Koehn for her succulent entry.

Best of Division winners were: Artistic - Karla Lee; Specimen - Nikki Thomas; Potted Plant - Susan Koehn; and Collections - Mike Streigel.

Winners in the Wilma Moore Memorial Division were: Artistic - Patty Herr and Specimen - Mike Streigel.

Winning the Little House on the Prairie table setting was the "Flower Girls"; 2nd place went to Kathy Fisch and 3rd to Karla Lee.

Culinary Results

There were 116 entries in Culinary. Patty Herr won Best of Show. Carolyn Danner, Peg Grimm, Patty Herr, Melinda Kincade, and Lois Taylor won Best of Division.

Carolyn Danner won the Cookie Jar, and Jan Dugger won the Candy Box.

There were 33 youth entering various projects in the Youth Department. Best of Show went to Charlotte Perrin for her fair garden.

Best of Division went to Tinley Thomas, Kimber Thiessen (2), Kennedy Thiessen, Charlotte Perrin (2), Evelyn Perrin, and Otley Van Patten.
